It's time to announce...

our April Guest Designers! Please welcome Lori Roop and Savannah O'Gywnn!

Let's get to know Lori a little better...
Hi! First of all, I'm so happy to be sharing my love of paper crafts with you all this month. It's such a privilege to work with such talented and delightful people. My passion for creating has been deepened over the years by so many of you. When I started scrapbooking in 1999 I never dreamed it would morph into anything like this. So I want to encourage you. That no matter where you are at in your dreams. Whether you are just beginning your journey or you are actually living them out. Never give up. Anything is possible.

Now on to the personal stuff.....I've been married to my childhood sweetheart for 15 years. We are parents to four sweet kidlettes. Three darling girls and one handsome little boy. Currently their ages are 11, 9, 7 and 4. We've called the rolling hills of southern Ohio home for the last 14 years. We are very blessed and thank God each day for all of our blessings.

And Savannah too...
I have always been interested in art and crafts--my mother painted and was really good at sewing. I started making cards from scratch (no stamps, ink, etc.) in college. I would paper piece everything with construction paper! When I moved to Florida, I took a break and focused on teaching. My husband has been very supportive and encouraged me to start a business--my passion. I just recently resigned and took up crafting full time. I paper craft and sew--I would like to get into scrapbooking. I love love love it!

My family consists of my husband of three years, Travis, and a Catahoula Leopard dog, Olsen Bebo. I am originally from Star City, Indiana--I grew up on a farm. Loved the country life, but after living in Germany to do my student teaching, I knew I needed to move. That is how I ended up in Florida. I love paper crafting and sewing, but I also enjoy singing. Travis and I are worship leaders at our church--he plays the guitar and sings with me.

As I'm sure you all can tell, these are two lovely ladies! And their projects are just as beautiful! Let's take a peek at some of their work...

EtsyInspired #78 ~ Fantasy Art of Maigan Lynn

>> Friday, March 5, 2010

This week's EtsyInspired shop is Fantasy Art of Maigan Lynn. I'm so thrilled to be showing of the beautiful artwork of one of my close friends this week! Maigan is a sweet person and an amazing artist. I love her whimsical designs! She has mermaids (which are my favorite), fairies, pumpkins, mushrooms, seashells, and snow mermaids. I love the beautiful colors she uses in her artwork! I feel that they are unexpected. And they are even more beautiful in person. The colors are vivid. The coloring has a lot of shadows and depth. I often try to mimic Maigan's amazing shading skills in my own creations. These little gems are available in originals, several different sized prints and even puzzles! How fun is that? They are perfect for anyone in your life who loves fantasy art.

To play along with our challenge, all you have to do is go to the Fantasy Art by Maigan Lynn shop and pick any item to be inspired by. Make your creation and post a link to it on Mr Linky below by next Friday, Mar 12 by noon Pacific time. Everyone will be entered into a random drawing to win. If you upload to SCS or PCP, please use keyword EIC78. And PLEASE remember to give credit to the shop that you found your inspiration from. This week Maigan is offering up a PRIZE too! One random winner will get to choose three (3) 4x6 prints of their choice! Lucky ducky, I wish I could win!

We also have an AMAZING sponsor this week! It's GLUE ARTS! They have the most awesome (and affordable) glue runner with a handle. I love it! It's so easy to use and not bulky at all. The cartridges come in all different kinds of adhesive ie permanent, repositionable, squares, etc... They also have fabulous ribbon adhesive. You can stick it on to ribbon and it will make the ribbon lay flat on your card. Glue Arts carries a whole line of amazing products! You should check them out. They are offering up a prize pack this week, shown in this picture. How cute is that tote bag?

Now go be EtsyInspired!!

Our March Guest Designers - Lisa Adametz and Laurel Seabrook! We are so lucky each month to have such talented crafters join our team and these ladies are certainly no exception! Let's get to know them a little better, shall we?!

Hi! I'm Lisa and I am crazy excited and honored to be a guest designer this month for Etsy Inspired. I think we are all looking for inspiration everywhere, so finding it amongst, and supporting our fellow artists’ is just fabulous!

I got into card-making almost 2 years ago now, when I first moved to California. I had no idea what I was doing, but I really wanted to learn as much as I could. I have always been drawn to more “handmade” type cards at stores and thought why shouldn’t I make my own? 2 years later I get as inky as I can and love altering paper, metal, chipboard, etc and making cards for the people I love.

My sweetie and I love spending our free time camping, having a relaxing evening at home together or travelling IF we can, too. We have two amazingly gorgeous ragdoll cats, Gracey and Penny, which are spoiled absolutely rotten. I’ll happily share a photo of them anytime!

Hello, I'm Laurel and I am married with 2 girls ages 14 and 12. I teach grade 1 full time and my hobbies are paper crafting (especially card making and scrapping), photography, blogging and painting. Although the job and family life keeps me busy I try to make time for myself daily by going for a run and of course playing in my craft room.

I have recently been published in CARDS, Scrapbook Trends magazine and in a future Paper Crafts magazine, have been Guest Designer for Inspirational Card Sketches, Sketch Girl and am currently on the Design Team for Get Sketchy, The Scrappiest, Schlosser Designs, Scrap-Mart, Our Creative Corner and Sassy Studio Designs.

My passion right now is anything using paper. My girls are the inspiration for my scrapping but I tend to do more card making as I love how quick, easy and satisfying they are... not to mention I am addicted to Challenges and participate in as many as I can!!!
I have now taken the plunge and tried my hand at making mini albums, I can see myself making more!

Now that you know a little bit about these ladies, how about seeing some of their wonderful work!

LISA:

LAUREL:

You are not going to want to miss the inspiration these ladies bring to our challenges this month!

With the beginning of a new month, we must also say goodbye to our February guest designers Courtney and Lisa. Thanks for sharing your talent with us this past month!
