February came Fast!

>> Sunday, January 31, 2010

Well it is hard to believe that the first month of 2010 is already over. With the end of January we say goodbye to Heather Pulvirenti as our guest designer. Thank you Heather for all the inspiration you added to our challenges this month!

For February we are happy to welcome two fabulous guest designers!

First up, please welcome... Lisa Arana

Here is what Lisa had to say:

Hello everyone. I'm so excited and honored to be a guest designer for the month of February. I have been "crafty" for years, but seriously making handmade cards for about 6 years or so. A friend showed me one of her cards and I was hooked. Now, I have a stash worthy of a hoarder and spend whatever free time I have engrossed in card design. I work full time and try to get my crafting done on the weekends. I am married to the most wonderful and supportive man and we have two sweet rescue dogs named Sienna and Ella. We love to be outdoors, so if I'm not crafting we are outside doing something!

Here are a few of my favorites that I found while perusing Lisa's blog:

Beautiful right?! You can check out more of Lisa's great cards over on her blog: http://dahlhousedesigns.wordpress.com/

Our second guest designer this month is Courtney Baker.

Courtney is the creator behind the Everything But The Kitchen Sink Challenge and is having several projects published this year in CARDS and Paper Crafts magazines...Congrats Courtney!

Here is what Courtney had to say:

Hey friends I’m super excited to be guest designing for the Etsy Inspired Challenge this month. And I don’t know about you, but I’m always waiting for inspiration to strike! I can’t wait to see what’s in store this month!

I love crafts. Really I can‘t get enough of it. Thankfully my sweet husband Chase knew that long before he married me. He had seen the many scrapbooks lining my shelves! Speaking of Chase we’ve been married for almost four years, and we’ve known each other since fifth grade (we didn’t start dating until late in our college years). Chase and I have a sweet little yorkie named Maddie! And if you’ve seen any of my videos you know I’m from the south, Nashville to be exact! Several months ago I started working on designing my own stamp sets, and last month that became a reality as I released my first set!
I’m super excited to be working with this challenge, and I can’t wait to see how we are all inspired!

You can check out Courtney's blog HERE where you will find all her great projects as well as her stamp set that she just released! :)

Take a peek at Courtney's work:

How lucky are we to have these 2 talented ladies joining us this month?! Please give them a warm welcome! :) Enjoy your week and remember there is still plenty of time to participate in this week's challenge...see details in the post below.

>> Friday, January 29, 2010

This week's EtsyInspired shop is Elie's Happy Hats. Oh my goodness, this store just oozes cuteness! They have amazing bright fun colors and cute designs. The color combos are really fresh and I love that. Gone are the days when boys just wear blue and girls just wear pink. These colors are trendy and darling. Not only that, but they have fun new hat styles that I find super unique like this darling floppy hat to the right. They have so many other cute styles like beanies with brims, double pom pom hats, flapper hats, ear flap hats, etc... And they don't just have hats either! They have headbands and shoes too! The shop is having a HUGE clearance right now so check that out! You can also find them here: Elies Happy Hats Twitter and Elies Happy Hats Facebook.

EtsyInspired #71 ~ Amethyst Soap

>> Saturday, January 16, 2010

This week's EtsyInspired shop is Amethyst Soap. And WOW! These soaps are really something spectacular. I've never seen anything like them before. These are SOAPS! Can you believe it? I mean, seriously, they are so pretty that I'm not sure if I could bring myself to use them. But beyond the looks, some of this soap is actually really functional. There's a complexion bar that designed for people that have acne and other skin irritation. There's a pomegranite bar made from REAL pomegranite. This shop even has a "great eight" unique oil blend that is magical for the skin. Not only that but they GUARANTEE that you'll love it or you get your money back. Not many stores off that kind of deal.

This week, Amethyst Soaps is offering their The Trio (Small) Turquoise Soap as a prize. How do you win? Just pick any item in the Amethyst Soap shop to be inspired by and make any creation that you wish. Link your creation back to the EtsyInspired #71 post on the EtsyInspired blog by next Friday Jan 22nd, noon Pacific time to be entered into a drawing to win. Please make sure you credit the shop where you got your inspiration and this challenge to be eligible to enter. If you upload to SCS or PCP, please use keyword EIC71.

As if all that wasn't enough, this week, we also have an awesome sponsor! The Cutting Cafe! They offer all sorts of amazing digi crafting things! From background papers you can print to digi stamps to cutting files. They have an awesome assortment of things! You have to go check them out! Especially if you want some extra WOW factor for your cards! The Cutting Cafe also donated some items to the DT to work with so you can get a glimpse of what kind of awesome stuff they have. ***Prize from The Cutting Cafe is anything 3 sets of winner's choice.***

Our January Guest Designer... Heather Pulvirenti!

We are so excited to have Heather join us this month! I'm sure you already saw her fabulous snowman card for this week's challenge...can't wait to see what else she'll have to share with us this month!

While perusing Heather's blog, I found that she has her own Etsy shop filled with her crafty goodness and she is going to be published in several magazines this year too! Congrats Heather!

Here is what Heather had to share about herself:

My name is Heather Pulvirenti, though most people in the blogosphere know me as Heather P. :) I live in Columbia, MD with my husband Jason, our 4 year old daughter Lindsay, and an assortment of little boogers (aka our cats and dog). Our daughter is a total spitfire, and I just love her to pieces.

I was born in England, and have spent most of my life in the US (in Maryland and Virginia), except for the four years we lived in Canberra, Australia (my mom was career Air Force). I am currently a SAHM, and though I had reservations about this transition, I really love the time I get to spend with my daughter and wouldn't do it any differently given the chance.

I started paper crafting about 4 years ago after being invited by my husband's aunt to a Stampin' Up! workshop, and I haven't looked back since. LOL, my style and go-to colors have definitely changed over time, but there's something so enjoyable about creating that never waivers. Thank you so much for the opportunity to be a part of the Etsy Inspired team, I am honored and thrilled to be here!

And we are honored to have you Heather! :) Here is a peek at some of Heather's work:

Be sure to visit Heather over at her blog to see what other fabulous projects she has to inspire you!
