I'm super excited to announce and introduce you to four new DT members who will be staying with us until the end of the year. Thank you to everyone who applied! I will be keeping a list to draw guest designers from!
Emily is a middle school art teacher in California. Although formally trained in design and art history, her real passion is in paper craft. She loves to design cards for friends and family, and finds new challenges in designing Scrapbook layouts. She is married to the morst wonderfully, supporting husband who happily shares his home office with her paper craft studio and together they have one child, a small pet parrot named Mr. Green! She is thrilled to be able to share her art in this wonderful online community and meeting new friends and fellow artists.
I have always been interested in art and crafts--my mother painted and was really good at sewing. I started making cards from scratch (no stamps, ink, etc.) in college. I would paper piece everything with construction paper! When I moved to Florida, I took a break and focused on teaching. My husband has been very supportive and encouraged me to start a business--my passion. I just recently resigned and took up crafting full time. I paper craft and sew--I would like to get into scrapbooking. I love love love it! My family consists of my husband of three years, Travis, and a Catahoula Leopard dog, Olsen Bebo. I am originally from Star City, Indiana--I grew up on a farm. Loved the country life, but after living in Germany to do my student teaching, I knew I needed to move. That is how I ended up in Florida. I love paper crafting and sewing, but I also enjoy singing. Travis and I are worship leaders at our church--he plays the guitar and sings with me
About ten years ago a friend invited me to join her for a Friday night crop at a local scrapbooking store where my love affair with paper and ink began ... and I've never looked back. I spend my days crunching numbers as a commercial credit analyst and look forward to my evenings & weekends in my studio sanctuary. I am inspired by architecture, magazine advertisements, store window displays, product packaging, and of course the designs in fabulous Etsy stores. I love sushi, driving with the wind in my hair, laughing until my stomach hurts, Sunday night on-line Scrabble games with my sister, Sonic Diet Dr. Paper with vanilla and extra ice, and lip balm. I can't imaging creating without ColorBox Chalk inks, Tonic 12" guillotine paper cutter, 3M tape gun and a Teflon bone folder. Discovering the world of on-line creative communities is one of the best things that ever happened to me ... I love having fabulous creati ve friends all around the globe. In addition to designing for the Etsy Inspired Challenge, I host the SplitCoast Stampers Inspiration Challenge on Saturdays & volunteer as a Chemo Angel.
I'm blessed with two wonderful children and a loving and supportive husband. I live in a lovely and safe city Waterloo (Ontario, Canada) where it is known for the birth of the PDA BlackBerry. In my little world, I help managing hubby's medical office. When NOT working, I love creating cards and making yummy food. I have always loved stamping. I started shortly after my 15-year old son was born. I became active and passionate about my hobby after joining the Hero Arts Flicker/blog in Fall 2008. Currently I am on two other design teams: Tiffany Doodles and Treehouse Digital Stamps. It's been a a dream come true to be part of EtsyInspired Blog! I love the varieties and inspiration from the Etsy shops. The atmosphere in this blog is friendly and encouraging for crafters/card-maker/stampers of any level. I can't wait to work with all my team mates and getting inspired!
